Genealogy Programs for Linux --- I haven’t yet had time to check all the links, but this page at the German genealogy.net site contains several links to genealogy software for Linux.

The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding --- Although it isn’t free, this PHP and MySQL based package does look quite good and I may end up using it if I can’t find something free that does as good a job. It currently costs $29.

GeneWeb --- is a genealogy software program with a Web interface. It can be used off-line or in a Web environment. It uses very efficient techniques of relationship and consanguinity computing, developed in collaboration with Didier Rémy, research Director at INRIA. It is free software with a GNU license, and is available for Unix, Windows and Mac (OS X).

Genealogy Software --- a page of links to genealogy software sites or sites listing genealogy software.

Helm’s Genealogy Toolbox --- includes not only the largest categorized list of genealogical links, it has genealogical software profiles, search engines, digitized images, how-to articles, queries, and genealogical news stories.

Cyndi’s List of Genealogy Sites --- the list of sites even remotely related to genealogy.

USGenWeb --- The USGenWeb Project is a group of volunteers working together to provide free genealogy websites for genealogical research in every county and every state of the United States. This Project is non-commercial and fully committed to free genealogy access for everyone. Organization is by county and state, and this website provides you with links to all the state genealogy websites which, in turn, provide gateways to the counties. The USGenWeb Project also sponsors important Special Projects at the national level and this website provides an entry point to all of those pages, as well.
